The holiday season is upon us!
It is a joyful time to be with friends and family. This year, let's give even more love and gratitude to the planet and consider simple steps to make the holiday season more sustainable! Check out our simple tips and have a conscious and environmentally friendly Christmas!
The Christmas season is almost synonymous with extravagance and glitz. We tend to buy more food, decorations and gifts, which inevitably leads to an increase in garbage. However, if we are more aware of the consequences of increased consumption and consciously consider the effects of our actions, we can reduce the amount of waste during the holidays. We have collected ideas in four categories to make the holiday season more sustainable.
Presents
If you're still looking for last-minute gifts, consider locally produced products or second-hand items, as this way you can also reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Find durable and useful gifts that won't end up in the trash soon after the holidays!

Food
Do you already have a vegetarian dish on your Christmas dinner menu?
If we serve a vegetarian meal as a main course instead of a meat dish, it can significantly reduce the environmental impact of our meal. Impress your friends or family with a mouth-watering vegetarian holiday special, such as a vegan meatloaf or a pumpkin pie.

Wrapping
Think about innovative and reusable packaging to make your gifts attractive and ensure that the packaging does not end up in the trash. You can use old clothes to wrap gifts, and be sure to leave a message to remind the recipient that the packaging is (re)usable!
Instead of wrapping material, the gifts will also look good in a used backpack or canvas bag, which you can reuse!
Decoration
Are you preparing with magical lighting? Enjoy the delightful decorations and save energy by turning off the lights at night or when a room is left unattended. An empty mason jar filled with pine cones and green wine bottles with a string of lights are an imaginative and sustainable decoration!
We wish you a happy and 'green' Christmas!
