We took photos with the Hungarian psychedelic garage rock duo Stone Sober at the end of March. You've already seen the works, but now we can finally show you the finished photos!
We already told you that Szputnyik is launching a new series, in which we organize photoshoots with bands. Our first such collaboration was with Stone Sober, get to know them!
Stone Sober is a psychedelic garage rock duo from Budapest formed in 2021, consisting of drummer Cseni Kubik and guitarist-vocalist György Urbán. Their music is characterized by twangy riffs, energetic drums, and alternating male and female vocals.
Their first album, the Sainted Mash , released in June 2023, was recorded in several studios and released on cassette in limited editions. In August 2024, they released their second studio album, Freaky Lo-Fi Hits , which was recorded at various locations, including the DeeKay Records Hungary studio and the yurts on the shores of Lake Antal in Szentes.
The duo has performed at many renowned venues and festivals, including Dürer Kert, A38 Hajó, and Fekete Zaj Festival. They have also played as an opening act for bands such as Wolfmother and VHK. In 2023, they were nominated for the HEMI Music Award, further strengthening their international presence.
What makes Stone Sober special is that despite their duo formation, they provide a full-fledged concert experience, combining psychedelic and garage rock elements in their music, while captivating the audience with their energetic performance style.
